Octoberama 2015, Vol. 4: Hellions/Tales of Halloween/Casey Ruggieri

Octoberama 2015 comes to a close with our annual Halloween special. We kick off Horror Business with a real world horror story that may be the beginning of the end for life on Earth. How's that for a hook? We then move on to discuss the new Friday the 13th video game, and not one, not two, but THREE different comic books being adapted for the screen. We go on to talk about Shout! Factory's plan to make original content and have some bad news for fans of reboots. Do those exist? We then go on to talk to Casey Ruggieri, one of the stars of the new horror anthology Tales of Halloween. Casey talks about about her interest in horror, tells some on-set stories, and gives us some hints about what her future holds. Speaking of Tales of Halloween, it's one of our reviews this episode! That makes sense, right? Halloween episode, Tales of Halloween, you get the idea. But wait, there's more! There's another new Halloween themed movie out called Hellions and we go on to review that one as well. Before we take off into the night, Man Crates, the creators of awesome gifts for men that come in a big crate you have to open with a crowbar, asked us this question: what would we need in a crate to last a whole horror movie? We relay some of the best answers from listeners and give our own answers as well. We then close things out with a festive round of Plot Holes before heading off to our annual Halloween party. Octoberama 2015, Vol. 3: The Burning/Friday the 13th, Part VI: Jason Lives

Octoberama gets a new twist with the first ever Week of the Slasher! We start things off by reviewing the 1981 story of Cropsey, The Burning. Contrary to Taylor's statement, there were no sequels. There were, however, many sequels to Friday the 13th, the best of which was part six, Jason Lives, which we also review. Finally, we have a mini-review of the new short film from former guests LuchaGore Productions, "Madre De Dios," starring another former guest Tristan Risk. So grab something sharp and get ready to chase down some half naked campers with The Grave Plot Podcast.

Octoberama 2015, Vol. 2: The Dead 2: India/Return of the Living Dead/Ben Scrivens

Octoberama rolls on with Week of the Zombie! Once we get into Horror Business, we have a couple stories that tie into our reviews. Namely, a real world horror story out of India and a new zombie movie from John Russo. We also discuss the return of "Freddy's Nightmares," as well as some new Nightmares. We go on to talk about other new TV shows coming from A&E and USA, as well as the upcoming movies Southbound and The Poltergeist Curse, and another addition to the ever-expanding Ghostbusters universe. Before we jump into the reviews, we spoke to Fright Rags founder Ben Scrivens. Fright Rags is a horror t-shirt company with some of the most awesome designs around. Listen to the interview and hear all about how the company came to be. Finally, we revive the rotting corpses of a couple undead flicks. We reviewed The Dead last year, and now we continue the franchise by reviewing The Dead 2: India. We also reviewed the 80s horror comedy The Return of the Living Dead from John Russo. Octoberama has returned! For the second straight year, we go back and review some classic movies, with new episodes every week in October! We kick off the 2015 edition with Week of the Vampire, where we review the movies Near Dark and The Lost Boys. There is no Horror Business this week, so just relax and enjoy these bloodsucking reviews. We'll be back in just one short week with another full episode.

Episode 47 - Cooties/The Green Inferno

Taylor of Terror has returned! Episode 47 kicks off with Horror Business about the real world horrors of tequila, as well as a "Legendary" haunted attraction. We also discuss new TV shows, including one based on Stephen King's The Mist, one starring Bruce Campbell, and one from Rob Zombie and Mila Kunis. Yes, Mila Kunis. We also discuss a couple remakes, namely A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Crow. We have two highly anticipated movie reviews this episode, with the horror comedy Cooties and Eli Roth's cannibal flick The Green Inferno. Both of these films were supposed to come out long ago, but due to varying reasons have not. UNTIL NOW. Were they worth the wait? You'll have to listen to find out! Episode 46 - Bloodsucking Bastards/Sinister 2

Strap in and get ready for another long one (that's what he said?).Taylor was absent for this episode. So in his stead, Tony's dad, John, returns to the show for the first time since Episode 16! As you might remember from that one, John has a lot to say, so we have a lengthy episode for you again. They stayed... mostly on topic.We start off with a fresh batch of Horror Business. In Real World Horror, tragedy strikes the horror world with the death of a legend, and a nutcase forces children to watch a movie about a nutcase. A surprising (see: disappointing) bit of casting news from the Ghostbusters set is explained. We cover sequel and remake news with updates on Trick 'r Treat 2, Jeepers Creepers 3, the Waxwork remake, and the former director of the IT adaptation speaks out.In typical Grave Plot fashion, we review two movies. First up is the sequel to the hugely popular film, Sinister. Aptly named... wait for it... Sinister 2. Does it live up to its predecessor? Next, we talk about the horror-comedy vamp flick, Bloodsucking Bastards. Did we laugh, or did we think it just sucked? Episode 45 - Lost After Dark/The Curse of Downers Grove/Ben Rock

It's time! It's time! It's Grave Plot Podcast time! We kick off this lengthy episode with our thoughts on the late Wes Craven. He was a legend and has left a Freddy Krueger sized hole in our hearts. In Horror Business, we discuss real world horror stories about a hooded figure in North Carolina leaving meat at playgrounds (UPDATE: mystery solved) and a real life blood rave in Amsterdam (using 1,300 gallons of blood and not the mere 13 gallons that Taylor says in the story). We then discuss a pair of acquisitions by FOX and Warner Brothers, as well as a new exorcism movie from the makers of Starry Eyes, a new graphic novel from John Carpenter, an animated series based on "Castlevania III," and updates on "American Horror Story: Hotel." We then have a conversation with Ben Rock, creator and director of the web series "20 Seconds to Live." This is longer than our usual interviews, but it's chock-full of good stuff. Ben gets into his experiences in film school, working on The Blair Witch Project, and working with Adam Green and Tom Holland. You should definitely listen to this one. We close things out with our reviews, and this time around we selected The Curse of Downers Grove, written by "American Psycho" scribe Bret Easton Ellis. It's not quite what we expected, but... actually, just listen for yourself and find out. Our other selection was the 80's throwback slasher Lost After Dark. It's a fun little romp that… why am I telling you all this? Just listen to the episode. You'll like it.

Episode 44 - Final Girl/Harbinger Down

Good morning, friends, and welcome back to another episode of The Grave Plot Podcast! In today's Horror Business, we tackle a couple of real world horror stories, involving serial killing grandmas and ax-wielding clowns. We also discuss some more fictional stories, including updates on Freddy and Jason, as A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th are getting new iterations. So, too, is the Disneyland ride the Tower of Terror, which is being adapted into a movie yet again. Will it live up to the 1997 Steve Guttenberg classic? We discuss. We also discuss new the TV shows "Monstropolis" and "American Horror Story: Hotel." In our reviews, we cover the directorial debut from Tyler Shields, the revenge thriller Final Girl, starring Abigail Breslin all grown up. Our other review is the crowdfunded practical effects monster movie Harbinger Down with Lance Henriksen. Enjoy the creamy goodness.

We're back and on the attack! In today's Horror Business, we talk about a famous director who lost his head, the upcoming remakes of Cujo and Ghostbusters, new directors for everybody, and a tale of Muppet murder most foul. We also discuss the future of the Evil Dead, The Dark Tower, Blade, Hannibal, and Dead Island franchises. We get back into the swing of interviews with three very exciting guests. We sat down with Raynor Shima, Luke Bramley, and Gigi Saul Guerrero of LuchaGore Productions. We discuss their past, present, and future including their projects such as Madre de Dios, El Gigante, and Choose Your Victim. We also discuss how the company got its start and their relationship with the Soska sisters. In our reviews, we tackle the Eli Roth-produced thriller The Stranger, as well as Exeter - aka Backmask aka The Asylum - the latest from director Marcus Nispel. So listen up, you primitive screwheads!
