Episode 19 - The Sacrament/Vampires/Eze as Pi Productions
Saturday Jun 28, 2014
Saturday Jun 28, 2014
For a while it seemed like episode 19 would go down as "The Lost Episode." We first recorded it the day after a double header Drunken Cinema (HUGE mistake) and, despite the massive hangovers, it turned out pretty well. However, through no fault of our own, the audio was corrupted and irreparable. We recorded again on Wednesday and somehow, the file was again corrupted. This time, however, Tony was able to repair the file, 6 seconds at a time, and the episode was saved. So here we go. We jump into the latest Horror Business, including real-world news concerning the discovery of a tomb believed to belong to Vlad Dracul, the "real" Dracula. In the world of fiction, we catch you up on the Americanized version of the French drama The Returned, plus updates on the future of The Walking Dead. Moving from the small screen to the big screen, we talk about Pacific Rim 2, Leprechaun: Origins, Harbinger Down, Insidious: Chapter 3, Ghostbusters 3, This Isn't A Movie (yes, it is), Paranormal Activity 5, Friday the 13th, and a film adaptation of the popular video game Dead Rising. Speaking of video games, we tell you about the upcoming sequel to Dead Island, appropriately titled Dead Island 2. We also tell you about some cool new horror figures coming from NECA and tell you how you can see Freddy Krueger in the burnt flesh one last time.
We also got a chance to chat with Hank and Wayne Thompson (no relation) of Eze As Pi Productions about their new project, a zombie movie through the eyes of children, called Too Young To Die. Think Lord of the Flies meets Land of the Dead. It sounds like it could be a fresh take on the zombie genre, which would be refreshing. Check it out at www.wearetooyoungtodie.com. We also have two new movie reviews. The first is the latest from writer/director Ti West, The Sacrament. This movie is about a cult and, surprisingly, things go awry. The other is John Carpenter's 1998 vampire film, Vampires. Get it? James Woods plays a vampire hunter who must take down the master vampire before he turns into an invincible vampire who vampires vampire vampire. Wait... what? This episode took a lot of work to make. Enjoy the show.

Episode 18 - All Cheerleaders Die/Godzilla w/ Carlos Rodela
Wednesday Jun 11, 2014
Wednesday Jun 11, 2014
What up, homies? After our trip to Crypticon, we are back to the grind and Carlos Rodela from Video Game Break once again joins us. We've got a lot of Horror Business to catch up on, including some real world horror from Wisconsin where a pair of young girls sacrificed their friend to the fictional Slender Man. This will no doubt put horror in a negative light, but we're pretty used to that. We also tell the sad news about the "architect of Alien" passing away and catch you up on several TV shows, both new and old, including The Walking Dead, Dracula, Friday the 13th, iZombie, and upcoming made-for-TV adaptations of Firestarter, Legion, and The Omen. We also tell you which formerly big name in horror is trying to get back in the game, plus the latest from the directors of Oculus, Saw II, Shaun of the Dead, Hatchet, and Trick 'r Treat. Yes, they ALL have new projects in the works. We also give you updates on YET ANOTHER Sharknado movie, as well as what's new with The Stand and World War Z 2, plus introduce you to The Bringing. There's also a bit in there about the amazing-sounding Great Horror Campout, something we definitely want to check out. If your appetite is still not whetted, and we hope it is not, we also have two great reviews for you. We give you our thoughts on the latest adaptation of the giant lizard known as Godzilla, lus we got a chance to privately screen the new Lucky McKee movie All Cheerleaders Die. So turn on, tune in, and fuck off. Wait, that's not how it goes...

Episode 17 - Crypticon Seattle 2014/Truth or Dare
Wednesday May 28, 2014
Wednesday May 28, 2014
Hello boils and ghouls! Yep, that's right, we used the trademark phrase used by The Crypt Keeper. The reason? We went to Crypticon Seattle last weekend and we got to meet and interview the man behind the corpse, John Kassir. We also got a chance to spend a few minutes with the Soska twins, Jen and Sylvia, the writers and directors of American Mary and the upcoming See No Evil 2. It was fantastic getting to speak to all three of them, we hope you enjoy it as much as we did. In lieu of Horror Business, we also got a chance to check out some panels while we there, including "The Best Horror Movies of 2013" and "Scary Sexy Time," a panel about who you would bang from the horror genre. It was... interesting. We also finally got a chance to see the independant film Truth or Dare, and give you our review of it. We also got a chance to take part in a Q&A session with the movie's writer/director Jessica Cameron, who was joined by Tristan Risk from American Mary and the short film Call Girl, which was also screened. All in all, we had a great time at the convention and hopefully you have a great time listening to it. Enjoy.

Episode 16, part 2 - Pet Sematary/It w/ SkeleJohn
Friday May 16, 2014
Friday May 16, 2014
We are back with even more Stephen King excitement. We had so much info flowing that we couldn't cram it all into one episode. Hopefully you got your fill of Horror Business in part 1. Now is the time for our reviews. We continue with the Stephen King theme by reviewing two adaptations of his books, It and Pet Sematary. But first, we have a special guest review. Our old buddy Carlos Rodela called into our voicemail and left us a review of Uwe Bol's House of the Dead. You know... like the video game. You'll see. There were some audio difficulties that occurred towards the end. We're still not sure what happened but the episode does get cut off a little. We hope this doesn't affect your overall enjoyment. We apologize for the issues. So get ready to continue the action with part 2!

Episode 15 - Oculus/Patrick w/ Kevin Nesgoda
Wednesday Apr 30, 2014
Wednesday Apr 30, 2014
Hello again and welcome to another episode of everyone's favorite game show... wait... what are we doing? Oh yeah, Grave Plot Podcast. We've got a special guest calling into the show today, Kevin Nesgoda from SonicsRising.com. Kevin takes time out of his NBA Playoff watching to talk horror and review some movies. This episode features a couple of slow burning movies that feature a lot of alternate reality and make you question what is real. We finally got around to seeing the new film Oculus, which was delayed because of the Facebook purchase. Oh, that was something else? Well, anyways, we were supposed to review it last episode but didn't have the time, but now we did. So there. We also reviewed the Australian thriller Patrick, about a coma patient with powers far beyond those of a normal coma patient. I guess technically walking and talking would be powers beyond that of a normal coma patient... Well, Patrick can do more than just walk and talk. Just... just listen to the episode, you'll see what I mean. I hope you didn't think we forgot about Horror Business! Today's news and rumors kick off with the sad news that FEARnet will be going the way of so many Camp Crystal Lake teenagers. Speaking of which, we also give you more updates on not only the new Friday the 13th movie (sequel?) but also a Friday the 13th television show! What? Yeah! And before you ask, no, this is not a rehash of the terrible 1987 series that didn't even involve Jason Voorhees. In non-Friday the 13th related news, we also tell you which former TV star could be making a return to the small screen on The Walking Dead, plus tell you about the expansion of that same undead apocalypse universe with the release of a new series of novels. Speaking of zombies, we tell you about the new anthology Zombieworld, and give you the details of Contracted: Phase II. Other sequel news include Sinister 2, Nurse 2, Insidious Chapter 3, and I Spit on Your Grave 3. In case all that doesn't satiate your appetite, there's also a new Cabin Fever being discussed, but instead of a sequel it's going to be a remake (reboot? Reimagining? Whatever). Man, our segue game is on point today. So get ready. While the movies we review might take a while to get going, we come out guns blazing. Bang bang!

Episode 14 - Lucky Bastard/Hatchet/Jack Davis
Wednesday Apr 16, 2014
Wednesday Apr 16, 2014
One of our reviews this episode is a movie called Lucky Bastard. Dave gets to bang his favorite porn star. It does not go as expected. Hilarity ensues. Wait, that doesn't sound right... Our other review has writer/director Adam Green bringing back "old school American horror" with his slasher flick Hatchet, about a Louisiana ghoul who slays anyone that trespasses in his bayou. We also got a chance to speak to the CEO of The Crypt horror app, Jack Davis. You can check out The Crypt at fearthecrypt.com and download if you're an iPhone user (Android coming soon). It's a great source for pics, articles, movie clips or anything else that gives people the heebie jeebies. Go check it out. In addition to all that fun stuff, we also have your doctor recommended dose of Horror Business. Today's topics include another series about Charles Manson (besides the Rob Zombie/Brett Easton Ellis collaboration that we discussed in episode 11), updates on Pumpkinhead (yes, you read that correctly), sequel news and rumors for The Dead and Hocus Pocus, plus more on the Scream TV adaptation that MTV is working on. We originally discussed that one WAY back in episode 1. But wait! There's more! We also tell you which Syfy program is getting cancelled and what it's being replaced with, plus tell you who you'll see in Eli Roth's Knock Knock. So strap in, it's gonna be a bumpy one. The ad in this episode is for the "Yeah, Let's Go There" podcast. You can find more at yeahletsgothere.com.

Episode 11 - American Mary/Nurse 3D
Wednesday Mar 05, 2014
Wednesday Mar 05, 2014
This one is for the ladies. We review two movies with female leads, American Mary, about a med school student who turns to a dark underworld, and Nurse, about a... well, nurse, who brings a dark underworld to the surface. Both feature women who are a little south of normal. We also give you the business. Horror Business, that is. We catch you up on the latest from Rob Zombie and Bret Easton Ellis, provide updates on the Goosebumps movie and Comes the Krampus!, and tell you why the remake of Pet Sematary is going to be god-awful, which leads into a whole spiel about Hollywood stomping all over the horror genre. On top of all that, we introduce you to the new John Constantine, give you the latest on Ghostbusters III, break down Penny Dreadful, and tell you what Eli Roth is up to these days. If that's not enough, we also tell you about Utero and warn you of the dangers of Zombeavers. Take a listen, I think you'll like what you hear. ...ladies.
