Episode 179 - The Reckoning/Benny Loves You
Wednesday May 19, 2021
Wednesday May 19, 2021
One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do. Luckily, even though SkeleTony is out this episode, Taylor won't have to do a number one as he enlists the services of Kevin Nesgoda to fill in the role of co-host. Taylor and Kevin tell you the coolest place to find a COVID-19 vaccine... as long as you live in Romania.
In Real World Horror, Kevin talks about the Love Has Won cult from Colorado and the curious thing they did with their leader, Mother God. In Horror Business, the boys discuss Robert Egger's new film, Darren Lynn Bousman's plans for the Leprechaun franchise, and a head scratching reboot from a major studio. There's also a look at two sequels that neither of us ever expected.
For our film reviews, we talk about Neil Marshall's alleged return to horror with the witch hunt era period piece The Reckoning. We also discuss the off-the-wall killer teddy bear film Benny Loves You.
So kick back, grab a cold one, and enjoy another new episode of The Grave Plot Podcast.

Episode 178 - We Are the Flesh/We Are What We Are
Wednesday May 05, 2021
Wednesday May 05, 2021
¡Hola! Welcome to the first ever Grave Plot Podcast Cinco de Mayo special! In honor of today's holiday, we're talking about Mexican horror and even, gulp, drinking tequila.
Before we get to all that, though, we gotta talk Business - as in Horror Business. In Real World Horror, we talk about a UK homeowner who made a very startling discovery under their house while digging a drainage hole. We also discuss a George A. Romero film being... brought back to life (get it?). We also tell you all about the new clickbait horror anthology from the makers of WNUF Halloween Special, give an update on the new movie based on Disney's Haunted Mansion, and discuss a new vampire film (dubbed by Taylor as a "blue color Blade") starring Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dogg. Finally we take a look at the possibility of Adam Wingard returning to the... sigh... MonsterVerse.
We then head south of the border for our Cinco de Mayo film reviews! First up is the very... um... polarizing film We Are the Flesh, featuring a homemade underground cave and the depravities that take place therein. Up next is We Are What We Are, the story of a struggling family trying to deal with the loss of their patriarch. Oh, and they also maybe eat people.
So grab yourself some cervezas and join us for another brand new episode of The Grave Plot Podcast!

We also talk about Mike Flanagan's next project, updates on the Goodnight Mommy and Slumber Party Massacre remakes, and we're still trying to figure out what an NFT is thanks to Kevin Smith and his new horror film.
Oh, did someone say horror film? Okay, let's talk about horror films. First up we've got the new vampire flick starring icons Babs Crampton and Larry Fessenden, titled Jakob's Wife. We follow that up with the time loop home invasion mind bender known as Lucky.

We open up by mourning the loss of makeup artist Cleve Hall. Cleve was the first celebrity we ever met at our very first ever Crypticon so he holds a special place in Grave Plot lore. We move on to Real World Horror to talk about the pitfalls of trying to sell a haunted house.
In Horror Business, we discuss a new horror-comedy starring the Foo Fighters, a new haunted house film from the legendary Sam Raimi, and a new sequel series to The Guest. We also break down the new Resident Evil film and lament yet another spin-off (or two) of The Walking Dead.
We then head to the theater for our film reviews, where we talk about the new remake/reboot/re-imagining/re-whatever the fuck of 2003's Wrong Turn, as well as try to wrap our minds around the absurdity of Psycho Goreman.

Who do you think you are? We are! Welcome back to the Grave Plot for the big 1-7-5.
We kick off the episode with a bunch of nonsense about vaccines and other irrelevant rantings. Finally, we get to Real World Horror, where we talk about the latest chapter in the TRUE STORY of The Amityville Horror (cue eye roll). In Horror Business, we discuss Rob Zombie's rumored Munsters movie, a TV series based on Let the Right One In, and a Frankenstein-esque film featuring Willem Dafoe and Emma Stone. This, naturally, led into a discussion on Disney villains. We then give our opinions on a new Predator comic series and a miniseries based on R.L. Stine's Just Beyond series of graphic novels.
In our film reviews, we head off to the Emerald Isle for our annual St. Patrick's Day salute to Irish horror. First up we talk about the resurrection thriller Wake Wood, a 2009 movie about a pagan ritual gone wrong. Who would have thought? We then review the supernatural comedy Extra Ordinary, featuring Will Forte as a Satan-worshipping music star and the ghost hunting duo that serves as his foil.
Oh yeah, we also drank a bunch. Because it's St. Patrick's Day.
Enjoy!

Episode 173 - Willy's Wonderland/Saint Maud
Wednesday Feb 24, 2021
Wednesday Feb 24, 2021
Weeeeee're baaaaack! After taking a break off for the 2021 Grave Plot Film Fest, we're back to our regularly scheduled program.
Today's episode gets a little off the rails at times, with asides featuring The Avengers, geography, and the best way to trim your pubes (use code GRAVEPLOT for 3% off the Bush Buster 5000). When we finally get down to business, Horror Business that is, we discuss lifeforms that "shouldn't be there" found in the Arctic in Real World Horror. We go on to discuss The Last of Us casting for the upcoming HBO series, a new Addams Family series coming to Netflix from Tim Burton, and how Neil Blomkamp spent his summer vacation. We also chew over a JJ Abrams project that's Subject to Change as well as the return of Brittany Snow to the horror genre.
For our film reviews, we have a conversation about two highly talked about movies. First up is the slow burning religious thriller known as Saint Maud, about a born-again Catholic looking to save the soul of a dying dancer. It's a brooding, serious film. Our other review goes to the opposite of the end of the spectrum, with the a caffeine-fueled Nicolas Cage fighting animatronic killer animals in Willy's Wonderland.
Find out our thoughts on these films and much more with a new episode of the one, the only, the incomparable Grave Plot Podcast!
