Episode 192 - Antlers/Superdeep
Wednesday Jan 12, 2022
Wednesday Jan 12, 2022
Hey... remember us? We're back in your life. You're welcome.
We ring in 2022 with a positive mindset and a big ol' bag of Horror Business. First up is Real World Horror, where we take a look at the mysterious fish storm of Texarkana, TX. In the world of fiction, we examine a new horror video game called VHS, the big screen adaptation of the Dear David story, and Keanau Reeves being cast in the H.H. Holmes story. We also discuss a sendup of Lifetime thrillers starring Kristin Bell as well as an allegedly shocking but not-all-that-shocking-sounding new horror series coming to Peacock.
For our film reviews, we discuss the new Shudder original Superdeep, about a big ass hole in the ground and the events that take place therein. We also have a conversation about "the new Guillermo Del Toro" film, which is neither written nor directed by Guillermo Del Toro, the wendigo story Antlers.
So get used to us again because we're here to stay. For now.

We also discuss Netflix's new Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie (as well as a quick chat on the just announced video game), the return of the Phantom of the Opera - minus the opera this time - and an update on Guillermo Del Toro's long desired At the Mountains of Madness project.
For our film reviews, we celebrate Black Friday with Bruce Campbell and Devon Sawa fighting off a murderous group of mutant shoppers. We also examine the latest from writer/director Edgar Wright, the neon soaked 60s thriller known as Last Night in Soho.

Friday Dec 03, 2021
Who ya gonna call? The Grave Plot Podcast, of course!
Today we're gonna bust all over because we're talking about not one, not two, but all damn THREE Ghostbusters films! That includes 1984's Ghostbusters, 1989's Ghostbusters II, and the brand new Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
In the interest of time (believe it or not), we've only got Real World Horror for you, with a story about flesh eating bees. BEES?! Yes, bees. We then forgo Horror Business to just straight into the reviews. Of course, this being The Grave Plot Podcast, there are plenty of digressions, including rants on Muppets and Zubaz plus, naturally, singalongs!
So grab your proton pack and jump in the Ecto-1 because busting makes us feel good.

Wednesday Nov 17, 2021
Wakey, wakey, hands off snakey. It's time to HRISE AND SHINE with a brand new episode of The Grave Plot Podcast upside your dome.
We kick off this episode in the normal way, ranting about soda and jury duty. Once we finally get into the nitty gritty, we talk about a Real World Horror story involving mysterious, possibly reptile or possibly polar bear, footprints found in a Venezuelan home. We then dig a little deeper with Horror Business, including a curious sounding horror film involving former WWE wrestler Windham "Bray Wyatt" Rotunda, as well as stories about Finn Wolfhard, Leonardo DiCaprio, and a sequel to Lifetime's Bad Seed. We then close out the segment by discussing a new series based on the film Fatal Attraction.
For our film reviews, we first look at the latest in the Paranormal Activity film franchise, the maybe-reboot known as Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin. We follow that up with the small budget demon flick Lair. There's a lot of demons in this episode, try to keep up.
So get ready. Get ready. 'Cause here we come. Get ready, 'cause here we come. What, no Temptations fans in the house?

Do you know where you are? You're in the jungle, baby! SHANANANANA.
Okay, so it's not the jungle, but Welcome to the Blumhouse. Or whatever. Today we're talking about two new movies in the film studio's latest slate, namely Luchagore's Bingo Hell and the brooding The Manor.
Up first though is Real World Horror, about a terrifying parasite (or is it a symbiont? I don't know, Tony will try and figure it out) that eats a fish's tongue and then BECOMES THE FISH'S TONGUE! In Horror Business, we talk about the new aquatic board game from the makers of Mixtape Massacre. Speaking of games, we also look at one of the video variety based on the films in the A Quiet Place series. We then examine a trio of zombie stories, including a famous one returning to Hocus Pocus 2, plus sequels to the Australian road movie Wyrmwood and Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead.
So strap in, or on, or whatever it is you kids are doing these days and enjoy a spankin' new episode of The Grave Plot Podcast!

It's time to unwrap another edition of Octoberama! We let our Patreon patrons nominate their favorite themes and of all the submissions, we selected Week of the Mummy! (Get it now, unwrap?)
We start off with Real World Horror, talking about some spirits that are infused with ACTUAL SPIRITS. In Horror Business, we discuss the next project from Mike "Flannalannadingdong" Flanagan, an update on the new version of Hellraiser, and yet ANOTHER spin-off of The Walking Dead. We close out by discussing the future of the Ghostbusters and Universal Monsters franchises.
For our film reviews, we unearth the comedy-horror film Bubba Ho-Tep, starring the incomparable Bruce Campbell as none other than Elvis Presley. "The King" teams up with JFK to kill an ancient evil that is trying to suck the souls of their fellow senior living facility residents out through their butt holes. Yes, that is really the plot. We also dig into The Pyramid, a found footage film about a group of archaeologists who find themselves trapped in a dig site with its nefarious inhabitants.

Octoberama 2021, Vol. 1 - Vampires vs. The Bronx/Vampire in Brooklyn
Monday Oct 11, 2021
Monday Oct 11, 2021
This episode sucks. Blah blahblah.
That's because Octoberama has once again woken from its eternal slumber to rise from the grave and PAR-TAY!
We kick off this year's festivities, as we do every year, with Week of the Vampire. But this year has a special twist in that it's exclusively New York vampires! Yes, it's a very weird niche, just go with it. I mean, fuggedaboutit. Open your ears as we discuss a scrappy group of kids taking on a gaggle - what's a group of vampires? Is it a gaggle? - of bloodsuckers trying to take over their neighborhood in Vampires vs. the Bronx. We also discuss Eddie Murphy's wig, Kadeem Hardison's rotting corpse, and other such nonsense found in Vampire in Brooklyn.
But we can't "fuggedabout" Horror Business! In Real World Horror, we take a look at a famous haunted house that is up for sale in a tiny Rhode Island hamlet. We then discuss even more haunted houses, but these ones are the fun kind that people build and charge you money to walk through so they can jump out and scare you. We follow that up with an update on Womp Stomp Films and their Friday the 13th fan film series, as well as examining the upcoming Let the Right One In TV series, a new Teen Wolf movie, and a sequel to the Polish slasher Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight.
So grab your stakes, your garlic, and your holy water because we got us some vampires to kill!
